Testeinrichtung für ein alternatives Steilfördersystem

Abstract

This scientific work includes the evaluation of the practical suitability of a newly developed modular, continuous steep-angle conveying system. The idea behind the IBEX system from LHB Mining Solutions is the use of decentralized, form-fitting drive units instead of a single head drive. This type of drive is intended to replace wheeled material transport with continuous belt conveyor systems. Critical questions that have not been assessed, such as the dynamic behaviour of the conveyor belt or the wear of the power transmission components, are examined more closely in this work. At the beginning the IBEX system is compared with different alternative drive options such as driven idlers or intermediate drives and some technical basics are explained. Externally conducted investigations on the wear behaviour of the form-fitting drive components are analysed and their informative value is assessed. To be able to assess the stiffness of the conveyor belt, a test facility is set up. On this facility the belt is statically loaded to measure the deformations. Based on these tests it could be confirmed that the currently used conveyor belt has a sufficiently high stiffness. The construction of a closed conveying circuit enables the drive concept to be tested under real conditions and to assess its resistance to contamination and environmental influences. Based on the accomplished test series, the practical suitability of the form-fitting drives could be confirmed. Furthermore, problems in connection with the current engine control were discovered, which must be solved in further development steps.
