Planung und Gestaltung eines werksübergreifenden Transportnetzwerkes am Beispiel der KTM AG

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

In the following work, a simulation study for the evaluation of a cross-plant transport network is carried out using the example of KTM AG. First, aspects and fundamentals of transport networks are reviewed and options for their design are worked out. Based on these fundamentals, a simulation study is created, which is divided into two simulation models. The first model represents an image of the current transport network which is as close to reality as possible. In the second model, an adapted version of the first model, the transport network is converted into a hub-and-spoke system. The aim of the simulation study is to compare the two models or transportation network concepts, to determine advantages and disadvantages and to find whether the second model is preferable to the first. After data collection and preparation as well as the creation of the simulation models, three experiments are conducted for both simulation models, specified by an experiment plan. With the help of these obtained results, the simulation models are compared with each other. The first experiment is used to validate the functionality of both simulation models. Experiment two and three differ in that in the latter the order sequence is swapped for the production orders in one of the plants. After the experiments have been conducted, the data obtained is evaluated, both simulation models are compared with one another, and statements are made. Finally, the changes or advantages and disadvantages of the two models are discussed.
