Analyse des Materialflusses und der Logistikabläufe in der Edelstahlherstellung

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

This master-thesis deals with the analysis of logistic processes and material flows in the production of stainless steel. At first the material flow analysis processes and methods are described and the special requirements and conditions of the stainless steel production are illustrated. The practical analysis is performed at Breitenfeld Stainless-Steel AG. The focus lies on processes that are relevant for the production, beginning with the delivery of scrap metal and ending at the electric arc furnace. As foundation for all further steps the capacity of production and materials handling equipment was determined. The analysis of the processes and also the material flows are shown step by step. To ascertain the maximum capacity of the steel mill and identify bottlenecks a scenario-based calculating model was developed. Based on the production mix the model determines the amount of material which is flowing through the production and shows where bottlenecks are located. The results and findings derived from the analysis and the calculation are the foundation for further developments of the production line to increase the possible output and pictures the influence of the product mix to the production system and capacity.
