Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to create a list of support materials, explosives, injection materials and exhaust gases used in conventional tunnelling and the materials used for face support during TBM tunnelling, as well as to show the effects on the recovery and/or disposal of the tunnel excavation. With the help of a literature search, the individual materials that are used for the tunnelling process have been identified. The conclusion of the first section is a table that shows in an uncomplicated manner which material is used in which tunnelling method. The second section briefly describes the legal situation of excavated material from underground infrastructures in Austria. In the third section, the materials that are used in tunnelling are discussed in more detail. The manufacturing processes of the materials as well as the exact composition of the individual substances are shown. The purpose of the use in the tunnelling process and the effects of the individual materials on the reuse of the tunnel excavation material are explained. In two real projects, the new Schaftenau-Radfeld line and the Future Circular Collider (FCC), the materials to be used are selected from the table created in chapter 2.5 using the planed and possible tunnelling methods. The effects of the materials on recycling are discussed. The measures to be derived from this are recorded. The data collected about the support materials and their effects are transferred to an Excel-table. This Excel-table should complete the Excel-file created by Mr. Johannes Lenes (master's thesis). By entering the grain size, the chemical and mineralogical composition and the tunnelling method, this Excel-file shows the possible reuse options for tunnel excavations.
