Abstract
The current Master's thesis draws an analogy between Industrial Ecology and Supply Chain Management. Thereby the focus is on the inter-organisational collaboration which has taken on specific characteristics because of different history of development of both conceptions. Such being the case it is obvious to trace the basic approaches which arise as a result of a detailed consideration in a short retrospective view. Based on these findings possible strategies of realisation are formulated and targeted principles are posited. Further on characteristics and trends of development with obvious similarities are checked against each other. That implies questioning of synergistic transferability which can be formulated either as definite instructive guidelines or as abstract perspectives of future applied research.
