Abstract
Tension test of material is a common experiment to determinate the yield tensile strength, elongation, and reduction area of the specimen at normal or higher temperature. The accurate test requires to keep the temperature of the whole specimen to be equal to a desired temperature. In the actual situation it is not possible to keep the whole specimen at the target temperature during the vertical tension test without any temperature control. The reason is that the air will move from bottom to top when it is heated and the difference temperature of the whole specimen will bigger than 10 grad. Recent quality standard require temperatures tolerances of +/- 3 grad. Topic of the thesis is to develop a control algorithm to keep the temperature at the target level within the desired tolerance. The algorithm is implemented in the software of an industrial controller. It is tested in the laboratory and finally applied in tension test stand in a quality control laboratory.
