Technologische ökologische Bewertung einer innovativen Verbrennungstechnologie

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Nowadays the production of energy and heat through combustion processing is a very important topic in society. Since there is a huge variety of diverse technologies existing, it is hard to choose for the right technology for certain raw and waste materials. There are different advantages and disadvantages of a firing grate and a fluidized bed combustion. Each feeding system, ash removal system and cooling system is showing up special features. To make the right choice, each case has to be considered individually. Within this master thesis several technical, environmental and economic advantages and also disadvantages of the combustion technology (grate and fluidized bed) are compared to the innovative REJECT to POWER technology. Starting with the feeding system of the fuel, followed by the furnance, the distribution of the combustion air and the burn out, leading to the ash removal system. Finally, the technologies of other european companies on this market are described and the technical, environmental and economic advantages and also the disadvantages are compared to the REJECT to POWER technology. The result shows up, that the innovative REJECT to POWER technology is a good combination of the advantages of grate and fluidized bed firing and it is positioned in the lower power range.
