Reduzierung von Quecksilberemissionen in einem Zementwerk

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The presented master thesis deals with the reduction of mercury emissions in an austrian cement plant. A brief description of the partner company will be followed by the discussion of the theoretical basis. In addition to the analysis of the state of the art, the technique of the reduction of mercury emissions is presented as the background for the planned experiments. The main focus of this work is the practical use of surfactants for the adsorption and subsequent the separation of mercury in the filter dust. In addition, a liquid oxidant is tested. However, not only the emission change on the flue gas is investigated, but also effects on the segregated filter dust are shown. The various substances are tested in a wide variety of quantity, position of dosing and plant operating conditions. In addition to effective mercury reduction the material compatibility, the handling and cost-effectiveness play a key role in the selection of a suitable substance, therefore these parameters are discussed as well. The completed work is a decision support for the partner company in order to have a suitable solution for the reduction of mercury emissions in the future. Meaningful experiments are the basis.
