Qualitätsarbeit in der Automobilindustrie mit Fokus auf Anlauf und Serienproduktion

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Quality inspections in the automotive industry, as part of the quality management, are gaining more and more significance and complexity for manufacturing and legal aspects. Due to different technical, economic and manufacturing requirements of various OEMs, Magna Graz faces many troubles concerning the standardization of quality inspections. The present master thesis describes a method for standardization and unification regarding quality inspections. It also deals with an analysis of the economic potential for mass production during a Serial Development Process and Serial Production Process. This analysis, which is based on the example of a current Body-In-White project ongoing at this moment, has been carried out in the course of this task. An analysis of the current state of quality inspections was done in order to find a solution for the unification of them. The obtained data was stored in a dynamic expandable database, which provides an opportunity for planning and implementing quality inspections economically for future projects. A questionnaire was designed to show the potentials as well as the weak points of the Serial Development Process and Serial Production Process. Afterwards the gained information, based on the evaluation of the questionnaire, was analyzed and individual recommendations for action have been extrapolated. During the literature research, which was done at the beginning of this thesis, weak spots concerning the topic “startup in automotive industry” were revealed, which are also some of the problems Magna Graz is forcing with. These weak spots were eliminated by developing diagrams with descriptions, as well as by comparing start-ups based on literature with start-ups in practice. Subsequently, the standardization of quality inspections was accomplished by using the already mentioned database. Nevertheless, due to the enormous amount of data as well as the limited timeline, the database still requires an extension involving all customers of the OEM. The evaluation of the questionnaire led to the determination of significant potentials. Owing to these results, economical solution statements were developed, comprising adjuvant information for further projects. In conclusion, a concept for a standardized method for quality inspections in mass production was designed, which however needs to be continuously updated, in order to retain the economic benefit. The established solution approaches were then forwarded to the responsible executive managers, who were assigned to implement them. Nevertheless, some of the collected potentials require a more detailed analysis in order to extrapolate more precise solutions for the ascertained defects.
