Abstract

Currently there are some problems in the crushing and conveying process of the quarry in Bad Häring which shall be solved by an optimisation of the process. Thus, in this paper first the current process is described and examined for problems. Afterwards, the requirements for the new process and the pre-existing preliminary studies are depicted. Subsequently, the crushing and conveying systems which are principally suitable for blasted material are described. In the next step, possible options for the individual parts and their combination are ascertained. Also, the costs of all the options are calculated. The suggested solutions are then compared with each other and the best options are chosen. Finally, these best options are described in greater detail. The result consists of one option with a belt conveyor and another one with trucks. In the first option the two crushers are replaced by a mobile impact crusher with a high crushing ratio. In the transport tunnel a branch with a new shaft and adit will be established. A new belt conveyor which starts at the new shaft will then lead to the current secondary crusher. The second alternative contains a different routing of the adit and instead of the belt conveyor special trucks with a high capacity are used. The second option causes lower costs which is why this option is recommended even though it creates higher emissions than the first option. Through the automation of the trucks which will most likely soon be possible the costs can be reduced further.
