Abstract
This thesis deals with End of Waste regulations and their relevance in a circular economy, to bring materials, once becoming waste, back to products regulations and use. For that purpose the prevailing legal norms in Austrian and in the EU will be compared and the relating jurisdiction will be analysed. After illustration the development of End of Waste regulations and their implementation in the European and in the national Waste Law, starting at existing examples of different materials, new approaches will be developed to meet the new requirements a modern waste law has to serve. Well balanced End of Waste policies a crucial for a transformation to a circular resource economy. The aim of this thesis is to make a contribution to design an up to date End of Waste rule, which serves the aims of resource-efficient economy and environmental protection at the same time. The central approach to create a well balanced relation between the environment and the economy in terms of a circular economy, the material-related approach will be derived from existing legal regulations and will be extended and emphasised.
