"MayRec" - Recyclinganlage der Zukunft

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The Project MayRec was realized by the Chair of Waste Processing Technology and Waste Management (AVAW) in cooperation with Anton Mayer GmbH and Komptech GmbH. The aim of the project was the modernization of the RDF (refuse derived fuel) production plant owned by Anton Mayer GmbH. The project focused on the extraction of recyclable materials and the production of high quality refuse derived fuel for cement plants and waste incineration plants. To achieve these goals a good knowledge of the waste materials was required ahead, within and afterwards the treatment. This master thesis describes the actual situation of the Anton Mayer GmbH waste treatment plant. Therefore chemical and physical characteristics of the waste flow were determined, mass balances for several production programs and tracer tests were performed. Based on this perceptions four new process variants were generated, to increase the quantity of the gained recycling materials as well as the quality of the RDF. Together with the Anton Mayer GmbH and the Komptech GmbH parts of these process variants were proved and tested with mobile machines. In addition an abrasion test of the slow-running, single-shaft shredder “Terminator” of the Komptech GmbH was performed and discussed.
