Entwicklung einer Prüfmethodik zur Charakterisierung der Haftfestigkeit im Gusszustand gießtechnisch hergestellter Aluminium-Verbundwerkstoffe

Abstract

This thesis investigates different test methods to find and measure the bond strength of a composite cast material. The main objective was to find the best suited test method that allowed a quantitative bond strength value to be specified and to ensure that the test gives reproducible results. According to the literature, different methods were compared and checked for their suitability. From this investigation, four measurement methods were selected for further inspection. Through multiple tests of the composite cast material using the five test methods it was found that the bond strength could be qualitatively measured with all of the selected methods, however good reproducible quantitative data for the bond strength was only seen with the tensile and centrifuge test. Due to these results for quantitative material testing the recommendation would be either the tensile test method or the centrifuge test method. In broader development it is envisioned that the upper casting material of the composite cast will be thinner. If this is the case testing by the tensile method would be no longer possible and the centrifuge test method would be recommended.
