Energiewirtschaftliche Machbarkeitsstudie zum Ausbau des Fernwärmenetzes in Salzburg - Zone B

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The expansion of the existing district heating network owned by Salzburg AG is an important component in achieving climate neutrality for both the province and city of Salzburg. Another key step is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in district heating supply. Besides environmental aspects, recent geopolitical activities have increasingly led to growing challenges regarding fuel procurement and energy supply. Since investments in district heating networks are very costly, economic viability must be ensured for investment decisions. This thesis aims to assist in investment decisions for connecting Zone B to the existing district heating network. To achieve this, a systematic literature review will be conducted to investigate the main technical specifications as well as the required economic indicators. Based on the key indicators found in the literature review, an energy economic feasibility study will be conducted. Additionally, a sensitivity analysis will detect the most influential parameters in the economic analysis. The analysis will be conducted on the case study of the cadastral community Liefering II.
