Abstract

Pressurized hydrogen loading tests were carried out in the autoclave with up to 100bar PH2 on differently deformed and annealed Armco iron and on tempered steel 39MnCrB6-2. It can be seen that a higher degree of deformation leads to an increasing hydrogen load. Temperature and time have no major influence on the total hydrogen content. The tempered steel shows only a slight tendency to absorb hydrogen. Slow strain rate tests on 39MnCrB6-2 show no tendency to embrittlement at 10bar hydrogen pressure.
