Abstract
After the successful performance tests of the container-based stirred media mill, purchased in 2020 by the Chair of Mineral Processing, the mill control system has been expanded by an online particle size measurement device designed for wet applications. Besides the implementation of the measurement system, the contribution of the author to the project “Smart grinding light” is to set up a data management system including the database solution, as well as data control by means of a multivariant process analysis. For this purpose, in cooperation with the research partners LCM (Linz Center of Mechatronics) and Cemtec – Cement and Mining Technology, a (cloud based) database structure has been set up on a local server for real time data acquisition combining both machinery and process relevant data. On the basis of the processed data, a physically based mill simulation model will be derived in order to create a digital twin.
