Abstract
In this thesis options of dust reduction in a bulk bunker are examined. The bunker has a length of 5,2m, a width of 3m and a height of about 6m. The material is dumped sideways or from rear side. To lessen the dust that developed through dumping the material different concepts were created and evaluated based on their applicability and estimated effectiveness. The most suitable methods, a guide plate construction and a system of flaps, were tested in a test-bunker with a scale of 1 to 4. Also a concept of an electric filter mounted in the bunker was developed but not build or tested in the test-bunker. The amount of dust created in the tests is determined by a set of container and cloth that gather the settling and the airborne dust. The test results are presented in tables and graphs and are compared to each other. Both tested methods reduce dust development significant and can be recommended for use in the real bunker.
