N2 - This graduation research presents the description of producing biodiesel by transesterification reaction. The characteristics of raw materials and reagents as well as as the qualitty of target and by products and their applications described. The fundamental chemistry laws and mechanism of transesterification reaction are presented, the main parameters affecting the process are described. Biodiesel separation and purification processes are studied. In the scientific part the influence of the parameters on the formation and rate of the ether-water emulsion separation in a wet-washing process is studied. The optimal process conditions for ethyl esters of rapeseed oil are set as the mixing rate of 400-450 rpm and heating to the temperature of 40-45 °C. The economic part provides an overview of the Russian and global biodiesel market. The life safety chapter considers accident prevention. The ecological part describes the impact of biodiesel production and usage on the environment.
