Abstract
Due to the more strictly becoming environmental regislation, the avoidance of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in the cement industry rapidly gains in significance. The available thesis primarily outlines the impact on the environment, types of formation as well as the Best Available Techniques (BAT) of avoidance and reduction measures of NOx-emissions in the cement production. The prior ambition of this work was the determination whether an ammonium-sulphate containing waste material is suitable for the denitrification using selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). In the laboratory tests, several possibilities of application as reagent were clarified, and comparisons with usual reducing agents such as industrial solutions of urea and ammonium-sulphate and waste water of the photo industry were carried out. A further main focus was put on industrial trials in the cement plant of Mannersdorf, in which the most suitable injection points of a SNCR-unit were sought, and in each case the possible potential of denitrification for the already mentioned reagents was detected.
