Umweltbewertung eines Industriestandortes unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von regionalen Nachhaltigkeitsfaktoren & Biodiversität

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

In addition to climate protection, measures for the protection of biodiversity are an important part of future-oriented sustainability management and an expression of responsible business. In the future, industrial companies will need to increasingly address issues such as biodiversity and regional sustainability factors to make a more significant contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 15, "Life on Land”. Biodiversity is analysed throughout all sites and the entire value chain as part of corporate environmental management. This Master's thesis provides an in-depth examination of biodiversity in relation to the industrial site of voestalpine Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG in Kapfenberg. The aspects of biodiversity covered in this thesis, including definitions, legal frameworks, measurement methods, and strategies for promoting biodiversity, are of great importance, not only for the company under study but also for the general public. Through a holistic approach, the industrial site can contribute to local and regional biodiversity while reducing its ecological footprint. By evaluating the current and target status regarding biodiversity at the industrial site and throughout the entire value chain, along with its legal context, opportunities for promotion can be identified and implemented.
