The examination of the European cement market is thorough with strong focus on Germany as high developed alternative fuel user, Poland as strong developing country and Spain as very low developed regarding alternative fuels. Furthermore the other industries steel, lime and power are examined as well. A very big challenge is to predict future scenarios, on the supply side and on the demand side, thus market balances and imbalances. The supply side, as already mentioned has many variables as waste generation, recycling rates, future landfill situation and capacity changes in waste to energy plants. The demand side for the cement industry can be predicted much easier than the steel and power industry, both being under price pressure on one side but very conservative in technology changes on the other side.",
