Abstract
Components for hydroelectric power plant construction are used for up to 40 years and longer. The materials for these constructions must be selected carefully to withstand the required operating conditions for decades. The aim of this diploma thesis is to test the fatigue behaviour of a turbine steel under various ambient conditions. The investigations have shown that the fatigue strength level is significantly reduced in chloride-containing aqueous medium.
