N2 - Performing comparative experiments with solid waste, confidence levels of differences between values of target variables at different levels of manipulable ones are often ignored, while being of high importance for the reliability of conclusions. In this work an approach for determining the confidence interval with acceptable effort – in relation to the typical extent of waste processing experiments – is presented, based on confidence intervals for t-distributed variables, with standard deviations determined in previous comparable experiments.
