Abstract

The thesis „Recycling- und Demontageuntersuchungen an Türmodulen im Automobilbau“ was written at Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik in Graz Thondorf, development department “Fahrzeugeigenschaften”, group “Recycling”.
The legal bases of the work are the European Union guideline 2000/53/EG on end of life vehicles (ELV-directive) and the regulation on end of life vehicles in Austria.
Recyclability and recoverability design guidelines, international standards and requirements of original equipment manufacturers on the one hand – and recycling concepts for end of life vehicles, as well as the used materials in the automotive manufacture on the other hand - form the technical background.
With deference to these requirements door modules of the manufacturer BMW were examined for their recycling ability. In the context of a complete disassembly of the BMW doors an analysis on dismantlability was accomplished. Finally recyclability rates and recoverability rates with accompanying estimation of cost for different scenarios were calculated.
