Prozess- und infrastrukturbezogene Auswirkungen eines erhöhten Biogas- und Wasserstoffanteils im Erdgasnetz

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The following work describes the effects of an altered natural gas quality on the gas infrastructure and industrial processes, caused by the feed-in of biogas and hydrogen into the natural gas grid. First of all, all components necessary for a functioning gas infrastructure are defined. Subsequently, the sectors using grid-bound natural gas as an energy carrier are identified. Based on this, the processes utilizing natural gas as fuel are described. In the second part of the thesis an industrial map is presented, which contains the most important enterprises of the previously characterized industries. The map can be used to identify various industrial areas and identify companies affected by the changed quality of natural gas. Furthermore the most important burner technologies used in various industrial sectors are explained. It is also shown which burner types are used for the characterized industrial processes. Finally, the effects of a changed natural gas quality on the previously defined processes are described. Therefore, empirical values and current research topics are discussed. On the basis of the information found, the further need of research is defined.
