Potenziale und Herausforderungen der Implementierung von Robotergesteuerter Prozessautomatisierung am Beispiel der Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Automation in industry finds numerous areas of application, digitalization of plants and process control being just two examples. Robotic Process Automation enables companies to dive into the digitalization and automation of business processes through cooperation between software robots and humans. These software robots imitate manual process execution and are particularly suitable for repetitive and rule-based business processes, with the intention of reducing the human workload. This master's thesis examines the use of software for Robotic Process Automation with the aim of deriving potentials and challenges and making a statement about a possible savings potential through this technology. The beginning of the thesis provides the basics of process management and Robotic Process Automation found in the literature. Furthermore, the criteria for the suitability of a process for automation by Robotic Process Automation were derived from the literature. These criteria were used to select a suitable process at Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH to carry out a proof of concept. The analysis and comparison of the automated and manual process execution form the basis for the data collection and evaluation carried out subsequently. To assess a possible savings potential, methods from the literature were used as part of a qualitative research process.
