N2 - Currently OMV AG E&P Austria operates 7 Underground Gas Storages (UGS), whereas 6 of them are located in the Matzen-Field in Lower Austria and one in Upper Austria. These six UGS in Lower Austria are operated by two different surface facilities. The larger facility is called Schoenkirchen Reyersdorf, where five different storage horizons are gathered. Among these storage horizons the Tortonian horizons (TH) are those with the highest working gas volumes. A goal of this study is to examine the performance of the individual gas wells in the 5.TH and 6.TH and provide appropriate measures to increase productivity. In the context of this Master Thesis a model of the surface pipeline system as well as models of each individual well were built. The model was matched to measured pressures and rates. On the basis of this match, suggestions on the optimization of the production system will be provided by simulating different production scenarios.
