Optimierung der Warenwirtschaft mit Hilfe eines vollautomatisierten Ausgabesystems für Verbrauchsmaterial in der Elektroindustrie

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The increasing challenges in the management of consumables and supplies, driven by the pressure to optimize value chains, require industrial companies to pay greater attention to this topic. Auxiliary and operating materials influence production in various aspects, such as the selection and quality of auxiliary and operating materials, as well as in terms of occupational safety and environmental impact. Auxiliary and operating materials are therefore of crucial importance for the efficiency of the processes, the profitability and the ecological footprint of the company as well as the quality and feasibility of the production processes. The first chapter focuses on the theoretical foundations of materials management. This includes various types of requirements, in particular the precise definition of auxiliary and operating materials. Procurement logistics and materials planning are also covered, including the importance of parts lists and planning procedures. In the area of warehousing, warehouses for auxiliary and operating materials are considered, with aspects such as shelf life, refrigeration and the handling of hazardous materials also being discussed. The study highlights the difficulties in maintaining a smooth supply of materials in a company. Finding a suitable management model for auxiliary and operating materials is emphasized as crucial. In the practical part of the thesis, in cooperation with the company Siemens Mobility GmbH, a search is made for providers who offer automated solutions for the inventory management of auxiliary and operating materials. The analysis and selection of output methods for Siemens Mobility GmbH are presented. Finally, after implementation, a survey on employee satisfaction is conducted, and the obtained results are presented. The findings of the study provide concrete recommendations for Siemens Mobility GmbH to continuously improve the management and handling of auxiliary and operating materials in collaboration with employees and service providers.
