Abstract
The transformation from a linear economy to a circular economy forces companies to take care of the resources used and to close material circles. The inplant waste management system plays a very important role in this case. On the example of a ski production industry, this master thesis focuses on the question, how an inplant waste management system can be optimized. The principles of inplant waste management systems, waste laws, material flow analysis (MFA), investment analysis as well as organizational and technical possibilities for optimization have been explained. Based on this, MFA was used to analyze the considered company and to derive specific suggestions of actions for optimization, with a huge focus on the mixed waste. Several internal and external treatment methods for wastes like glass fibre reinforced composites (GFRC), polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA), wood composites, etc. have been worked out. In addition, optimization potentials for the internal and external waste logistics have been shown. Investment analysis was used to check recommended plants for their economic efficiency. Suggestions for improvement of the existing waste management concept were also developed. In total, a saving potential in the six-digit range could be determined.
