Abstract
Multidirectional forging makes it possible to manufacture parts formed in more than one direction within one forming step. There are different possibilities and systems to achieve this. Some of these systems were examined in this thesis. The metal physical effects like grain refinement and hardening, which can be exploited by multidirectional forging and already established multi-directional forging systems are evaluated in the literature research. In this thesis, a finite element simulation using the simufact.forming software is performed, which calculates a multidirectional forged part for a cardan joint. Finally, a concept for a testing machine has been developed at the end of the thesis. This testing machine should be capable of proofing the effects of the multiaxiality on a part. The purpose of this machine is the determination of the yield locus of a considered material, and to test whether isotropic or kinematic takes place.
