Abstract

In the following work the creation of a digital twin of a hoisting winch installed in a crawler crane is discussed. The goal is to make the simulation as general as possible so that it can be used for a variety of crane models. For this reason, two different (but relatively similar) simulation models are created. One for an open hydraulic circuit and one for a closed circuit. The simulation is performed using the computer program MATLAB-Simulink, which allows easy modification of parameters (e.g., different dimensions of the rope drum). The main variables (lifting speed, length of the coiled rope, pressure in the pipes, etc.) are calculated and mapped over time. During the creation of the simulation model, some simplifications are made in order to keep the running time short enough to run the simulation in real time in parallel with a real plant. This should also allow for further future research and improvements (including machine learning). The correctness of the simulation is checked by means of tests on the real machine. The measured values are compared with the calculation results of the simulation and their deviation is calculated. For this purpose, different methods (absolute and relative error; formation of the distance squares between the curves) are used to obtain the best possible representation of the quality of the simulation.
