Abstract
The objective of this master thesis is the integration of the logistics processes in a new warehouse for spare-parts in the automotive industry. To realize this goal, all relevant processes of the central have been gathered to found an integrated basis for the hired warehouse. The determination of the current situation is further the first step for process optimization; therefore the identification and improvement of weak points was added. To reach this objective, initially, after a short introduction concerning warehousing in the automotive sector, all relevant warehouse processes have been described to get a target-state for the optimization. For the determination of the actual state of the warehouse processes some information was needed: arrangements, methods to gather existing processes and forms of illustration. Furthermore the analysis to detect potential of improvements and possibilities to optimize processes were units of this theoretical part. In the practical part, all processes of the spare-parts warehouse have been gathered with the interview-method and illustrated with the event-driven process chain. With the aid of a checklist the vulnerability analysis has been conducted, where the operations of the warehouse have been evaluated. To improve the processes, several suggestions have been developed. Whenever necessary, the applicability was proven. In summary, it can be stated that the integration of logistics processes in a new location for warehousing is a complex challenge for the whole company. A functioning process management is essential to accomplish this task.
