N2 - This master's thesis addresses the issue of improving the efficiency of electrochemical protection of the main gas pipelines using the example of the section between 336-384 km of the main gas pipeline ¿Punga-Ukhta-Gryazovets III¿. The thesis studies the issues of using cathodic protection stations, reveals the main problems of gas main pipelines corrosion protection, conducts a scientific review of domestic and foreign scientific papers and the existing ways of solving these problems. The project also proposed a solution to the issue of optimizing the operation of electrochemical protection stations, develops mathematical models of protective potentials distribution at the ¿Punga-Ukhta-Gryazovets III¿ gas main section and verifies their reliability and adequacy by the methods of mathematical statistics. The project also calculates the parameters of cathodic protection units when using extended elastomeric anodic grounding conductors and justifies the replacement of steel anode grounding.
