Abstract
This degree dissertation pursued two objectives, having as its first aim the rheologic optimization and consolidation of a ceramic slip already in use. The second goal was the testing of an alternative casting process and the development of a completely new casting technique for abrasive material: the RMLP© system. To optimize the slip, it was mixed with additives. Modifying the proportions of the components and employing different combinations of thinners and stabilizing agents, made it possible to find the optimal slip in rheometer trials. The gel casting technique was tested as an alternative to the conventional casting process. This was followed by the development of the RMLP© system. The latter showed numerous economic and ecological advantages and will be incorporated shortly in the production process.
