Evaluierung von 3D-BIM-Software für den Tunnelbau

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

In recent years, BIM, Building Information Modeling, has become the buzzword in construction. This method offers many advantages over the traditional designing method, therefore the use in civil engineering is obvious. However, only a few projects have been carried out in civil engineering or infrastructure so far. This thesis shows the state of the art in BIM and the use of BIM in infrastructure construction and especially in tunneling. Suitable software products for tunnel construction are listed and the software product Autodesk Revit, the currently most widely used BIM software, is tested for its usability and adaptability for the use in tunnelling as a designing tool. To do this with Autodesk Revit, the software product Dynamo had to be used for the complex constructive tasks of tunnel construction. Dynamo, which also required most of the work, offers many possibilities which would not be possible using solely Revit. In addition, the basic functionalities of the programs and the practical findings obtained from working with sample data from “Zentrum am Berg” are documented. It shows where the limits and the advantages of the respective software are. This thesis deals with the compatibility and complexity of the 3D-BIM software for tunnel construction as well as with the state of the art.
