N2 - A simple thermo-mechanical model of the submerged split-chill tensile (SSCT) test has been used to evaluate different constitutive elasto-viscoplastic equations from the literature. The calculated results were compared with experimentally determined force-elongation curves for different steel grades under varying testing conditions. The most adequate models will be further adjusted to the experimental results and serve as a valuable data base for more complex models.
