Ermittlung von Abwärmepotenzialen in der Sappi Gratkorn mit anschließender Machbarkeitsstudie zur Erzeugung von Niederdruckdampf durch Abwärme

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

This master thesis is intended to provide an overview of the waste heat sources and their potentials in production line 4 of Sappi Gratkorn in order to use them for suitable heat sinks in the further course. In addition, a feasibility study on the generation of low-pressure steam from waste heat will be carried out. With the help of waste heat utilization, the energy demand as well as CO2 emissions can be significantly reduced. Due to rising energy prices, considerable costs can also be saved. Especially in energy-intensive industrial plants, such as the paper industry, the use of waste heat makes sense. At the beginning of this paper, industrial waste heat utilization will be discussed in general. This is followed by an insight into the process steps in paper production and their heat requirements in order to identify relevant heat sources and sinks in the paper industry. The focus of the work is the analysis of the heat-relevant applications of production line 4 of Sappi Gratkorn and the subsequent feasibility study for the generation of low-pressure steam. In the course of the analysis, existing waste heat sources and possible heat sinks are identified and assessed for their suitability for use. In the feasibility study, those waste heat streams with the highest potential for the generation of low-pressure steam are then identified and their heat outputs determined. Based on this, waste heat utilization technologies can be designed and their feasibility evaluated by means of an additional economic feasibility study.
