Abstract
A test rig for precast concrete elements, so-called “Tübbinge”, which are employed in mechanized tunnelling, has been developed by the Chair of Subsurface Engineering at University of Leoben in collaboration with the ÖBB Infrastruktur AG. The aim of the test rig is to reach conclusions about the load-bearing and deformation behaviour of a precast element installed in a tunnel, by setting up trial runs with controlled mechanical loads and support reactions. Software has to be developed, to allow an optimized controlling and test realisation. The tasks of the software are the capturing of the measurement data as well as the processing and visualisation of the output. In the introduction of the thesis, basic background issues will be discussed, considering known facts about the strength of materials and the determination of the external impact of beams and arches. In the second part, fundamentals concerning the design of reinforced concrete parts are presented. Particular attention is paid to the design of predominant longitudinal forces as well as the “moment-normal forces interaction diagram” that is developed out of it. The necessary basics concerning failure modes and strain states will be clarified as well. This thesis is focused on the calculation of the moment and normal force progress, which is documented in great detail. Finally the software developed will be presented. In particular, the overall structure- and processing of the software, the user interface and its specific functions and parts are the main topics of the last chapter.
