The handling of bottlenecks is one of the most interesting fields of production logistics. Because of raised market dynamic, individual customer demands or globalisation companies are forced to flexibility and adaptability by low costs and high product quality. To reach these aims, it is necessary to keep disturbances in production as low as possible. Therefore, bottlenecks have to be identified and get controlled best possible. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis by way of introduction describes which kinds of bottlenecks can appear in an industrial production. Based on a closer examination of single production factors, causes for different production bottlenecks are analysed. Moreover models for the analysing of bottlenecks are presented. Within the scope of the practical part the production of the paper producing company Brigl& Bergmeister has been analysed considering its bottlenecks by an Excel-Spreasheed simulation. The results serve the company as basis for production planning, handling of bottlenecks and possible investments.
