N2 - The invention relates to a method for producing a synthetic paper composed of one or more layers, wherein the layer or layers are made of one or more polymers. In order to provide a synthetic paper which can be printed in the laser printing method, has high mechanical stability, and undergoes no warpage, according to the invention the method comprises the following steps: a) extruding or coextruding a film comprising the polymer or polymers, wherein at least one polymer is provided with a cross-linking agent; b) drawing the film produced in this way; c) thermofixing the film in the tensioned stage; d) cross-linking the at least one polymer, which is provided with a cross-linking agent; e) optionally treating at least one surface of the film; f) optionally winding the film and/or cutting the film to size into synthetic paper.
