N2 - Top hammer rock tools consumption can be very important and large expence for the mining companies and on the other hand very profitable business for the suppliers. Sandvik is producing such tools from many years and is responsible for some of the most important innovations in the field. Since Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) was created top hammer rock tools has been clasified as aftermarket products, but in recent SMC structure there will be special attention payed to development of the tools business. For the purposeis good it is very important for all Sandvik employes involved in rock tools business to have a good source explaining rock tools theory and practice from basics to most complecated rock tools contracts. This work is trying to compile and provide guidelines starting from why the rock tools are necessary, applications, variety, equipment, maintenance, optimization – all aspect related to a single sell, as well to a complicated high volume rock tools contract.
