N2 - The aim of this master thesis is to lay the chemical foundations for the development of materials based on silica particles and the polyetherol polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF). Therefore, three steps were taken: a) an end-group modification of PTHF, b) the characterisation of silica particles, and c) investigations on the reaction conditions for the coupling of silica particles to the functionalised polyols. The esterification of PTHF with organic acid was conducted successfully in high yields. The purification procedure described in literature was adapted, and the products were characterised via FTIR, NMR, TGA und wet-chemical methods. The functionality of commercially available surface-modified silica particles was determined with TGA, titration and elemental analysis, which led to equivalent results. After examining numerous catalyst systems, a partial conversion was observed for functionalised polyetherol and amines under aqueous conditions and microwave-induced heating. Experiments on the coupling of silica particles to the functionalised polyoetherols gave promising results.
