The invention relates to the use of an ammonia-releasing residue from a desulphurisation method for the denitrification of combustion exhaust gases and a method for production of cements, whereby said residues are used to denitrify the combustion exhaust gases. The ammonia-releasing residue is preferably obtained from a desulphurisation method in mineral oil processing and is used in a method for production of cement.
