This thesis deals with the comparison of automation solutions for distribution centers in food retail. In cooperation with the firm KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH (KSI) the most important aspects have been treated. The main focus of this thesis is the comparison of automation solutions of the strongest competitors of KNAPP for this solution. Based on the theoretical topics, such as the introduction in the world of warehouse logistics and automation, as well as the basics of evaluation of solutions, the individual solutions of the competitors are being discussed. In this context, the automation solutions of Witron GmbH, SSI Schäfer Group and Dematic GmbH for food retail are being considered. Afterwards the solution of KNAPP is described and the solutions are evaluated, in a qualitative as well as in a quantitative approach. A criteria catalogue for the comparison of the automation solutions is being created to allow an assessment of the individual solutions in terms of their use.
