Verfahren zur verbesserten Charakterisierung von porösen Materialien in der Fahrzeugakustik

Research output: ThesisDiploma Thesis

Abstract

Requirements on acousticians are getting stronger and stronger in the field of automotive engineering. Acoustic targets together with lower weight, lower costs and fewer prototypes have to be reached. Solutions achieve on the one hand an improvement regarding the simulation of material concerning the noise insulation and on the other hand a development regarding acoustically effective materials. The diploma thesis provides a survey of acoustics as well as an overview of noise control in automotive engineering. On the basis of case studies it is shown that a good knowledge of material is required for an improvement concerning the simulation and the material-development. After an overview of the state-of-the-art concerning the characterisation of sound-absorbent materials, a procedure is introduced that systematically evaluates the interrelation between microscopic structures and the acoustic properties of cellular porous material via the Rapid Prototyping Technology. Finally possible fields of applications based on the patent that has been applied for while working on this thesis will be discussed.
