The present invention relates to a method for producing an article from a maraging steel, wherein the article is subjected to a solution annealing treatment and a heat treatment one after the other, wherein the steel has the following composition in % by mass: C = 0.01-0.05, Si = 0.4-0.8, Mn = 0.1-0.5, Cr = 12.0-13.0, Ni = 9.5-10.5, Mo = 0.5-1.5, Ti = 0.5-1.5, Al = 0.5-1.5, Cu = 0.0-0.05. The remainder is iron and smelting-related impurities.
