Abstract

In cooperation between the Chair of Subsurface Engineering at the Montanuniversity Leoben and the Austrian Federal Railway a test rig for segmental lining, so-called tubbings, has been developed and built. These, precast elements are used in the field of mechanized tunneling to stabilize the bored tunnelwalls. On the basis of the test data conclusions about the load-bearing and deformation behavior of segmental lining are made. Furthermore, the utilization factor of in the tunnel installed segments should be determined in a later stage of the project. In order to raise the cost efficiency of the tubbing production, fiber reinforced concrete should be tested. In this thesis, first approaches to the production of tubbings with fiber concrete are discussed and presented. In addition to the large tests in the test rig with the precast segments, laboratory tests were carried out, using the same concrete batch. These tests represent the current state of the art in concrete technology.
