Abstract
IPCC has existed in many forms for a number of years but mining companies have been hesitant in implementing this form of material movement for several reasons. Flexibility being the main reason. Large crushing equipment is traditionally seen as fixed and permanent installations. To move the material from the crusher, a conveyor is required which have their own set of limitations. For these couple of reasons as well as the development of larger trucks in the 1990’s and relatively low fuel prices, truck haulage has been the conveyance of choice. With the current economic factors of lower metal prices, rising labour costs (especially in North America), rising fuel costs and the increasing requirements for emission control, IPCC will now be a feasible alternative to truck haulage
