Tauschsystem für den Wechselvorgang von Rollenkernen in der Papierindustrie

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Specially manufactured paper tapes are used in numerous applications in the pulp and paper industry. In a special process, these tapes are folded from paper strips, glued, and then pressed. Due to their special properties, these tapes thus represent a solution for the planned separation of a paper web at the end of a paper machine. Due to the increasing market demand for such belts and at the same time outdated process technology, there is an urgent need for action for machine sections of this production. Above all, the process around the rewinder at the end of the paper tape machines is very labor-intensive. Furthermore, the danger zone of this area is constantly increasing due to the increasing demands on safety technology in this section of the machine, which makes new development or automation unavoidable. The overall construction developed in this master's thesis includes not only a new development of the machine section regarding automation and the reduction of personal-related risk through improved demarcation options of danger zones, but also a completely new approach in the field of joining technology of the paper strips. Currently, the produced paper tapes are fixed at the beginning and end of the winding process by means of a paper tape strip. This is very important due to the high requirements of the purity law for paper and pulp production, as the introduction of undesirable foreign materials and chemicals would be fatal. In a research study, numerous experiments were carried out to implement this joining technique on an industry level. As a result, the process was restructured to a hot melt adhesive application using a defined hot-melt adhesive. Due to the small amount of adhesive and the sufficient joining force, this joining technique is selected. The overall concept of the flow of goods and logistics, i.e. the handling of the cardboard cores required to produce the paper tape rolls, was also completely revised and redefined in the course of this work. In the longer term, this can result in considerable cost savings.
