Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the press agglomeration of ultra-fine-grained copper-containing recycled materials with special consideration of extrusion technology. The literature part deals on the one hand with the basic features of extruder technology, different extruder designs and the choice of materials for highly corrosive media. Furthermore, on the basis of the material composition of the recycled material mixtures to be extruded and the process parameters caused by the extrusion technology, possible binders are analysed and evaluated. In addition, the drying behaviour of hygroscopic and non-hygroscopic drying materials is described. The characteristic sections of a drying process as well as promissing drying methods are discussed. The practical part deals with the characterisation of the input materials, as well as the test procedure for the production of mixtures, the pressing process for single pressings by punch pressing tests, curing or drying and strength testing. Different recipes are systematically tested and characterised by the strength values achieved. The investigation results in a recommendation for a binder that is able to fulfil the quality requirement of strength with acceptable drying time (without sticking). A first plant design is presented and discussed.
